So many people think they have the answers to everything until you look inside of them.I hope this poem gives him a touch of the immortality he thinks he has.

I just met a self-righteous man
He says he has the answers
But go against what he deems as truth
You get a mind that bounces
He is well traveled and his dreams are wide
His satchel full of stories
But delve further into his state
There's nothing quite memorial
His heart is alone because of him
His words are empty prophesies
He disects everyone he meets
When inside he's less remarkable
How sad is a self righteous man
Who will never know the depth
The heart can give or keep a beat
For the treasures he has met
He walks alone with his own worth
Exploiting those who listen
For this is how he completes his day
Never knowing what he's missing.

How sad is a self righteous man

Sad to those who have to be around him, I have met many who thought they just couldn't be wrong ever. How ultimately stupid they are. But they never realize it because they are so full of themselves.

When a person is full of him or her self they can never truly see or touch or experience the worth in the beauty of the others and the world around them. Very important and descriptive write.
Such wonderful insight you have. I appreciate this.

Wow! You have described him to a T! The Self Righteous man...

"We often boast that we are never bored, but yet we are so conceited that we do not perceive how often we bore others" La ROCHEFOUCAULD

I fished society and almost hooked a few duds...but, the water was too shallow, I only came up with mud!" KIMMY VAN KOOTEN

This got me going, Susan...what a great write!! :)

Being married to one I know where this is coming from....the one the only biggest mistake is he think he is GOD...but unfortunetly...he is worse than Gods enemy....more like satan himself!!

gosh! im writing on the same theme Susan - failing too, this is so well expressed - an inability to listen, someone who doesnt know too much about how to love - and of humility, the last part of your poem describes him perfectly, it all does -and yes 'How sad is the self righteous man' or woman...i am going to read again later, may be help me with my poem -thank you so much for this great read, Nicky xx

Missing out on the blessings of life, particularly love...the only one he loves is himself. No room for any other...a lonely existance, a powerful write. Well done, Susan.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
