Plant City Florida is the Strawberry capital of the US. It is where I have clients. Their Strawberry Festival is coming up the end of February. It is an amazing fiesta of the crop harvest with entertainment, food, arts and midway. The strawberries are the ripest and are a treat in pizzas, shortcakes, icecream, preserves, pancakes, syrup...just stop along with a million people once a year.

This evening as I was working late
Driving in strawberry fields
I caught the flash of distance
Disappearing from my windshield
I pulled over to the side of the road
Watched the strawberry pickers
It flashed again as fast as a blink
Like a speeded up agenda
There you were before me
Smile as big as a mile
Hands on your hips to gesture me
Grinning with love ... a man child
I saw the water in your eyes
Your hair as the collar moved
The wisp of a breeze whipping your beard
Cutting a mischievous groove
I wiped my eyes from delirium
I thought that I was sick
My knees wobbled from passionate thoughts
I captured this moment...quick!
Next thing I knew I was embraced
By a Spanish ... Romeo
He thought that my faint was all just for him
I didn't say and he'll never know
I ate my fill of strawberries
Sweet and juicy and thick
My passions were sated far too soon
Red juices, sweet...did the trick
I regress back to that moment
As this evening begins to swoon
I try to replay that passionate play
Under a Strawberry Moon.
.... Enough to make anyone see red with Valentino around! :)) Are you SURE it wasn't John Lennon???!!! He might have sung about this episode when he wrote Strawberry Fields (written, actually in Almeria, Spain, I think)... perhaps he breathed some "stuff" on you!
