Dame Kathryn passed away this past April.
This accounts for part of my absence.

A lover of animal and man
Never underestimates the future
Never I can't but I CAN!
Leader of our family now
Since Dad has ventured on
Heart so huge it's endless
For our family, friends... the throng.
She sits highest on her pedastal
Since birth it's been her fate
We all love her as Mother
Our Father called her his Kate.

Funny, I was only thinking about you a couple of days' ago and wondering how you are. What a roller-coaster year and yes, both our closest's comings and goings require our full emotional engagement in order to appreciate them fully. One door closes and a window opens: the progression and momentum of life itself. I, too, send my love and prayers for your comfort and peaceful resolution at your dear mother's passing, and equally my heartfelt joy at your wonderful addition! The line of Kate's continues and I'm glad, of course! :)) de Vegter women are priceless and a force to be reckoned with, judging by your words, and long may their reigns continue! To receive your reply to my message the other day and now to see your name come up on a posting brought a smile to my lips and a warm fuzzy to my heart. You truly have been missed Susan and it is so good to see you return and with such a beautiful poem that is both a tribute to your mother and an introduction to a future poet. My condolences and sincere sympathy in the losss of your mother.

So sorry to hear of the death of your mom; I know the pain of losing not only my mom (she died 19 years ago), but also my big, strong daddy (he died last year). Know you are ever in my prayers and thoughts! God be with your family during this sad time of loss! But O! To see the new life in your granddaughter; she is a little cutie pie! Susan, I am very sorry to hear about your mom. I am sure the angels are welcoming her with open arms. You, my friend, have been missed dearly. What a blessing to have such a beautiful baby girl. I have a grandson, Kason, my son's baby, he was born May 22, 2009! We have grand babies the same age! how awesome is that? I really hope you received all my messages, and I am so glad to see you posting again. Don't be a stranger, stay awhile and feel the love.

So good to see you again Susan...and I am so sorry to hear about your MOM...I know that sting very well as I lost my Leah...my prayers are with in every way.
As Southerners, perseverence has been bred into us. We survive, simple. Susan I went to Blue Ridge today looking at a house. Got to the realtor's office and after all the paperwork, he caled the broker and they had acceped and offer........Was my dream house.....Sheeit.....Gotta be one more that fits the bill.....
But there were a couple fatal faults in the design, but I would have taken it at the price.

Susan, I am so sorry. Nothing I can say. I asked about you. Your daughter answered. It is so good to see you, but sad for you . . .
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
