Shadow dancing figures, dark grays upon the walls
Enveloped and intermingled flowing down the halls
Celtic embrace of lovers mutually involved
Ghosts with sepulchers ever caught no mystery here to solve
Theory died for love these two, they really could care less
If life had been a party or just left them in distress
They loved for love and never thought of ever letting go
For wars are cold for lovers whose hearts are put on hold
She the lassie of Belfast and he of Protestant born
Her Catholic rearing spoken loud against somebody's son
They ran in shadows darting lights and hid their hearts away
Their every thought to sneak aboard a ship and sail away
Their love was born so honestly without the hint of hate
Emotion twisted into briars...worn like open fate
They went against the grain to love...their purity was just
They went to sleep one fateful night...their tears then turned to rust
The footsteps of a stealthful pair came quietly up the stairs
Then bullets tore their hearts apart but bonded them in tears
They justified their love just then by being souls above
The hatred of their fathers lands and for their fated love
They dance eternally for fate has given them a second chance
To openly engage all hearts to win...perchance to dance
They whirl in halls with fluted sounds...that echo's off the stone
They love forever without shame their hearts secure as one
They weave a silent message as shadows fall upon the wall
Welcome to all lovers who hear this fated call
Love is born as pure as birth and given for a purpose
It can't be politically justified for hearts should not be cursed
If you love and it is pure then nothing matters then
Religion, wars ,caste system...be judged or for the bittered kin
Love is one thing God gave us to weave two hearts together
It waltzes now in silent halls with fated souls all tethered
The Celtic knot speaks for souls who ever live entwined
No beginning or an ending just endless over time
So heed the call for love of hearts take down this awful ban
Give back true love to rusted tears and freedom to their land
No more dodging bushes and hiding in the dark
For Catholic pains with Protestants' and love for common hearts.

This poem was written after reading an Associated Press wire story about two kids in Ireland and the horror that this kind of religiousconflict/terror can bring upon the innocent.. Mat God bless Ireland
