A game that's older than you and me,
Oh dear, let me see.
Ten, twenty, forty, fifty-three.
That is how old it could be.

It takes a bat and a ball,
Open air and no halls,
An umpire not a referee, to make the calls,
A game where every player falls.

It's not a game played inside.
And no one ever trys to hide.
By the rules we must abide,
Winners, lossers everywhere even in the open air.
