I looked up at the sky tonight and what did I see,
The moon looking happily down at me.
Such a delightful sight seeing something on the tide.
The clear moon and a friend by its side.

This was the majestic planet Mars, I did find.
Just twinkling brightly on the moons left side.
As if to say a sweet hello to the smiling fellow.
For it looked to be a big, bright red and yellow.

The moon is entertaining a friend from a far.
It has traveled from the left of many stars.
For the man in the moon to let us see his friend.
 Is the nicest gesture that he could send.
