sometimes, perhaps, it's better to shade things a little. honesty can be rather harsh at times, one has to choose whether the price of naked truth outweighs the possible injury. i think naked truth in terms of one's own self-assessment is essential though. with others, it depends on the emotional investment. sometimes i roll with the old: "rather be serene and happy than right." good poem though, sparks a lot of thought and pondering.

It is true that honesty is the best policy but yes being honest has its price and can often be a price that is bound to hurt someone...

Good karma. So many lie--even to themselves. Unfortunately, the same people condemn truth. So many have died of neglect or fear, only to be found to be right after their demise.

I embrace truth in all its forms.

It's exhausting to keep up the deception and lies. Wasted energy. Truth is the best way to always go.

Hi Chessly, Honesty is always the best policy. A white lie is acceptable to avoid hurting someone. What would Jesus do? This writing like all of your writings was excellent.

"When exposed some might sneer" <---let them I say
some are so plastic and fake I would expect
nothing less than a sneer...all the while they hide

a saying I always stand with:

"Hurt me with the truth
rather than destroy me with a lie..."

When people lie to us they are stealing trust...
or at least trying too...
