Ice sculptures in the sky,
resemble fresh fallen snow
fluffy, bulbous mounds of clouds
sirrous, cumulous, sapphire streaks
adorn the sun’s brilliance
icy streaks run through billows
faint images of water forge through
clear spaces, snow banks grace the heavens
as day surrenders to evening, colors of burgundy,
burnt sienna, and grey consume the horizon
a translucent pane of atmosphere immerge
between the ground and me,
what a spectacular view
at 35,000 feet
