NO LONGER ALONE
He’d been on his own
for quite a long time.
She started new thoughts
creeping into his mind.
He’d been satisfied with life,
the way things had been.
She started him thinking
about actually living again.
She made him think
about getting out now and then.
About having some fun
enjoying the company of a friend.
He now knew he wanted someone
with whom he could share,
with whom he would enjoy life
and for whom he could care.
He wanted someone who would help him
come up from the past,
create a new future
and do it with class.
Oh, he’s set in his ways,
but he thinks he can change,
if the lady he spends time with
doesn’t cause him more pain.
Yah, he’d been alone,
and was doing just fine,
but now being alone
didn’t seem quite so sublime.
Life’s just too damn short
to live it without passion
and with her on his arm
he now feels more in fashion.
