Laying in the crib infant, never thought of being a combatant. The minute I stood ground, life was trying to knock me back down. I rolled with the punches, still got caught in the crunches.
Picking myself out of the rut, never saw the oncoming uppercut. Managed to duck to the right, then continued on with the fight. Learned to combine my blows, still got a bloody nose.
Tired of getting beat, won't accept defeat. Boxer untrained, faced blood stained. Learning to punch and duck, can't survive on luck.
We all must learn to roll with the punches, Grady, because none of us walk through life without some form of confrontation. We need to learn that there are many ways to strike back and the best ones include keeping our guard up and not using our fists to make our point.
