Poetic Why-ology

Everything has an -ology, we wouldn't be here without biology. After we arrived God provided us with psychology. We can keep it in our head, or put it out to be read, Marked red, struck down dead. All we can do is try to say something, as opposed to nothing.
Something positive is better, especially in poem, verse or love letter.

Poem Artwork

Writing poetry is like a shoot out too me,
each day I strap on my guns,
walk out to meet my foe.
My biggest foe is working these fingers,
creating these words in dead ringers.
Defying the odds,
dodging the lightening rods.

Everyday I fight a war,
keeping my positivity close
and not way out far.
My enemies other than me,
is the other negativity I see.
The negative people all around,
those pinned to the ground.
Weighted down in mind,
refusing to be loving and kind.

I try to thaw my own ice,
negativity that prevents nice.
I love to be nice and kind,
it's my choice of mind.
But just because I pick,
doesn't mean I get to avoid trick.
The trick of anger,
myself annointing finger.
Anger is a tool of the brain,
out of control
in can cause big pain.

I use poetry like a tool,
it helps me or makes me a fool.
Since I hate being foolish in attitude,
I constantly have to check mood.
Keeping mood in check,
is like a woodpeckers peck.
Peck, peck, peck,
watchout for the wreck.

The wreck comes with a ship,
next thing I know I'm on the trip.
In comes my human fragility,
pushing buttons of hostility.
I know all the dark,
still it's no walk in the park.
It's more like a mine field,
proceed on or yield.

Before I can yield my sword,
in comes the evil word.
The evil word is the enemy true ,
follow
I usually end up sad and blue.
Fight the oncoming assault,
more happiness is the result.

I've witnessed many follow the drool,
forgetting God's love school,
letting the devil use them as tool.
I've watched him perform his magic,
turn many good folks life tragic.

Why me,
why should I even try to resist?
Sometimes I want to go on
and dance the evil twist.
Twist and shout,
let all the evil out.
Bust the pandora box,
attack the chicken like a fox.

The chicken ends up being a vulture,
bird of prey with no culture.
The bird of prey wants to go all out,
but this isn't what I'm about.
I'm no extremist in form,
I only like to function in the norm.
Forget stupid all out horror,
I don't believe in terror.
Just a good fight defending,
I wish for a better ending.

Better ending cost big,
it means walking away from pig.
Choking down the anger,
not pointing the finger,
retreating the stinger.
Am I big enough too sage,
or do I go on with the rage,
end up in the cage.
Like a chicken in a coup,
I try to avoid the soup.

The soup gets too brewing,
my evil gets too stewing.
The boil becomes hot,
I try to escape the pot,
but the devil has his plot.
So I feel that I'm got,
I fight to the east,
I fight to the west,
try to get to where I know it's best.

Sometimes I fail the test,
end up almost destroying the nest.
There are lessons to be learned,
evil bridges to be burned.
I grab my match,
try to ignite the evil patch.
The devil has the patch guarded,
I feel I'm going with the dead departed.

As soon as I think I'm dead,
God gets in my head,
snatches me from the devil's bed.
I thank him for the rescue,
only to have the same renew.
Sometimes I wonder,
why life is such a blunder?

I feel one day I'll lose for good,
the devil will burn my house of wood.
Can I afford one of stone,
with a brain that's almost gone?
I start to figure the minds fraction,
there's still a lot left for subtraction.

I know I'm not exact,
but I start to evil extract.
The devil doesn't want too depart,
he wants all our soul and heart.
But God is a great surgeon,
he operates to remove the pigeon.

But the flying rat has wings,
ducks and dodges the Lord's stings.
I get caught up in the melee,
it messes with my day.
This battle has been going on for ages,
one day I won't be on its pages.

But

For now the Lord has my heart,
anything I can do
I try to do my part.
Being caught between good and bad,
almost makes one feel had.
So I chose wise,
try not too disguise.
Take myself to college,
try to understand and acknowledge.

I know why I write these poems,
it helps me with my storms.
They're just apart of my psychology,
so I understand the why-ology.

Why this
and why that,
bring in the Lord,
throw out the bat.
The devil is a Louisville slugger,
a big swing thugger.
He's hard to beat,
must less defeat.
But I will forever try,
fight and defy.
