The dog ran around wild
even chewed up a child
The child ran around untamed
the father hadn't been named
Off to the pound the dog went
The child at times lived on the street
because moms couldn't pay the rent

At his young tender age
the child was full of anger and rage
It wouldn't be long before he
ended up in a cage
with his name one of many on
the jailers page

Runaway father running wild
you better go back home
and train your child
He's lost in a great big city
where very few care or pitty

I feel sorry for this world today
where quite a few children are
left alone to run astray
The devil finds them as innocent
beings and tries to take them away
I feel sorry that it has to be this way
when poor little kids have no say
and because of no good parents
they're the ones that have to pay
