What Fate Is To Me

My fate.. my reasons.. my ideas..

Poem Artwork

I will not believe my life
was left solely to chance..
I know that fate is the reason I am here..
I have come so close to deaths door..
Far to many times..
To be saved by some
unsuspecting angle sent to save my life..
I have tried to leave this world of pain...
only to saved again and again..
I did not live this life of hell on earth..
To have nothing to offer this world of worth..
I do not wait for fate to knock at my door..
I have had to climb mountains..
Scream my lungs out of breath
Crawl through miles of glass..
But I still know it is fate that will lead me..
to the reason I have had to suffer
so much in the past..
We all have our ideas of
Fate ..
Destiny..
God..
To me my friends..
They are all
one in the same..
Just called
by different names..
So please understand..
There must be a reason to live
the life that I did..
One day I will find it..
Find the reason I had to suffer ..
a child alone and afraid..
And when I do my friends..
The world will know..
Children have rights..
the right to love
the right to grow
the right to play..
the right to live
without abuse..
the right to tell
their hidden truths
to walk without shame..
no longer the blame..
a right to be safe..
a right to NOT be sent back
to the very home
that abused them
in the first place.
Just a right to be happy..
to live without fear..
Is that so much to ask
for the children we love
so very dear..
They are my future..
that much is clear
This is part of my fate
To have a voice in this world..
And it WILL be heard..
Like it or not..
this will come to be..
I know it in my heart..
And that my friends
is my fate to me.
My destiny...

I believe you and I do believe you are already making a difference by having the courage to speak out...
I know what it is like to 'climb mountains' and try to end it...but am still here, and though our 'fate' took different paths, my worst came later..I feel a connection...I HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT IT WAS ALL FOR A REASON....and it is others I hope to be of some tiny bit of use to, somehow, someday...you know, and YOU...are an Inspiration...
and THIS...SO IMPORTANT, 'YOUR' PURPOSE...

"Children have rights..
the right to love
the right to grow
the right to play..
the right to live
without abuse.. "

YOU, W/THIS... a part of your purpose, so needed, fulfilled by speaking out...Thank God you survived to beautifully come to speak as a wonderful poet... for those who don't have a voice!
Thank you...

Agreed Super Girl... I am not one to sit idle myself. but children have NO choice.. and that was indeed my point

This brought tears to my eyes Erica. Especially regarding the rights of children. So much heart ache out there. So much destruction. I am so sad....

But lets talk more about fate versus opportunity. Fate leaves me feeling as though life is hopeless, events are out of my control. With opportunity I can choose to go one way or another. For children it is not as clear cut I agree. But as adults we have the opportunity to take our horrors and use them to create something worthwhile. Or we can let the fate that tried to kill our will take over and win. I know you are saying basically the same thing here.

I'll go read the other one now.

Oh, Sweetie, this is beautiful. I wish I could take away the pain and set the little girl free to be happy.
