A series of experiences beginning at birth
That will ultimately decide your true self-worth
These transactions mold you into what you will be
To understand their meaning, will not be easy
Pieces of your puzzle, that one day you may understand
Could you know you so well, like the back of your hand

Each moment a lesson, a chance to learn something more
Changes you in an instant, from the second before
Revealing your character, your nature, just who you are
Some will strengthen the heart, while others will leave a deep scar
Triumphs and tragedies, or call them what you wish
Some bring you immense joy, and others profound anguish

To understand how they affect your essence of being
Will open your eyes to a great sense of true seeing
Who you are, what you believe, and why you do what you do
There is no one else on Earth exactly like you
Your judgment of right and wrong, of truth or a lie
Now you see how these rules, to yourself, do apply

You know your likes, your dislikes, how you want things done
This knowledge is a gift, and life’s secret weapon
Embrace who you are, at this point in time
The reason for the writing of my rhyme
To know yourself and be forever, wise
To those who wish to listen, this applies.
