The money sent to help Africans does not always reach the target populations. some of it, if not all, is diverted to foreign accounts. The paradox is that the giver and the taker both know what is happening and never talk about the matter seriously. In meetings they throw mud at each other while each one is accusing the other with a dirty finger. There is something fishy in this donor-recipient business and that made Africa the breeding ground of corruption. I think the whole aid industry needs to be re-shaped to ensure that money reaches the real beneficiaries.
He is a naughty chap
His problem is money
He asked me some loan
From my right pocket
I gave him 100 dollars
He returned half to me
"What for" I asked him
"For safekeeping"
In my left pocket
I hid it for him
He was stealing
Am I part of the theft?
I am a donor in Europe
I give money to Africa
But leaders hide some of it
In my banks they deposit

Abdi Noor once again you bring the truth into the equation. However the process is so muddy hardly anyone wants to know it. I think we are all guilty. I give to salve my conscience knowing I gave and most of it would not go where needed. The nations that help give knowing that they are not giving where its needed. Your nation takes it knowing that it won't go where it is needed. So it is all corrupt.
