Dad and mom were killed
She ran away with a sibling
She was only nine years old
She ended up in a refugee camp
Her name was Khadija Yareey

There was no way to survive
Agencies had little resources
Khadija went to the bush
She collected firewood
She sold it in the market
She helped her younger brother

Life became very harsh in the camp
Two refugee neighbors offered a help
They divided the two between themselves
Khadija went to one family.
Omer, her brother went to the other
In some ways the children were separated
But in other ways they were connected
Khadija used to visit her brother very often

Time had come to undergo resettlement process
The two families were taken to America
They were resettled in different states
Khadija and her brother lost each other
That loss left the kids in terrible pain

But hope has emerged after three years
She got a message from a tracing agency
She was told that her brother was located
Agency arranged meeting for the duo
Khadija was coming from Minneapolis MN
Omer was flying from Colombus, Ohio

But the emotional re-union ended in tragedy
The meeting venue was Twin Towers NY
The day was Tuesday 11 September 2001
Just when Khadija hugged her brother
A plane was slammed in the building
The flame didn't separate them
They died on the same spot intertwined
Beside their bodies lied another one
It was Susan's, the Tracing Officer
She was looking on when tragedy knocked
