If you were a pilot and all the aircrats have been grounded or their parts looted by thugs, what would you do? Where will you go to find daily meal? A friend of mine Mr. Feitaan(a pilot with experience of more than 40 years in civil aviation) is now in Jallaaqsi village in south Somalia and has started farming there. If you meet him there you can not distinquish him from the countrymen in the area who never saw inside an aeroplane. Another friend of mine Mohamed Roble Noor once a journalist working for the AFP has now turned to be a shopkeeper to find an living for his family. I dedicate my poem to my friends and the other thousands of their type whom I do not know but scattered in all over the country.
When winds of anarchy blow
A political dust is created
Life would get so mixed up
Survival trends do chanage

Work status is not an issue
To eke a living is importan

People build coping mechanisms
Some run steady in the marathon
Others fall in the sideways

Those who have held a focus on their career will always find another way to get by. Those who have simply allowed themselves to fall into an employment situation, probably will struggle to find any work at all. I admire those who know that being tripped up is not the same thing as accepting failure. Excellent write, Abdi-Noor.
You represent your countrymen well Abdi Noor, allowing us to see how the times have reduced their status. I hope and pray things will take a turn for the better in Somalia, and in the world at large for many are suffering similar fates. Let's hope they can at least find something to do!
