African tribal chiefs are the pride of their communities and lead a luxurious life at the expense of their suffering followers. And in periods of economic hardships they just fend for themselves
I am the chief
Among my clan
I shine like a moon
So well fed I am
So clean I am
So polished I am
Seasons do change
But not my condition
I am the chief
It is a shame, Abdi-Noor, that one should take so much when they can look around and see that all of those surrounding them are starving and in need of basic requirements for human survival. We have not progressed any further than the old days of the Roman Kings, when the kings lived in luxury by taxing their subjects who were forced to live in squalor. I pray that things will get better for you and your people, though with each passing day, I wonder if it will come quickly enough to save the masses.

I heard on the news that have re-introduced the saharia (spelling?) laws, because that would give them more power. I pity the women though. Victor
this is a disappointing lesson for me. I'm too idealistic. In my utopian world, the chiefs would always put the welfare of the tribe at the forefront. We are dreamers, Abdi-Noor.
Enjoyed this much...during the month of February in my class I teach a unit on Africa, the children always enjoy it very much as I do too, it is a great kick off to my black history unit. So much to teach, so much that needs to be told. Great write my friend, keep up the good work!
