Pirates loot UN food while sea-freighted to Somalia and if this food arrives government imposes hectic check up and sometimes warlords loot it while distribution is underway. This tragedy affects not all people but the few underprivileged, most vulnerable minority communities in Somalia.
The trucks have arrived
The day looks beautiful
There is food distribution
Refugees make a long cue
Even children must line up
Otherwise they miss a meal
But in the middle of delivery
Shooting flares up in the area
Warlord makes away with the food
Building a fortune out of misery
People go back to shacks hungry
Children, too
those who have escaped the bullet
Would slowly die from acute hunger
Can't the world see this genocide?
All eyes are on Darfur
Not a glimpse is offered to Somalia

Quite a long time ago, over twenty years, I used to attend the Food Aid Program of FAO in Rome. This problem of the overlords taking food which belonged to the poor already existed. Victor

Shame on the greedy warmongers who take advantage of the situation in Somalia. The whole continent of Africa needs help, and it is up to people, such as yourself, who lives there, to educate the rest of the world.
