These are mere obsessions of a refugee on the issue of culture in the light of this fast-changing world where millions are being displaced or driven away from their original homelands.

In this globalized world
Will my culture survive
Or will it be swallowed by other cultures?
Will my grand children preserve my cultural legacy
Or will they be part of world society
Connected by a global culture?

Or is it promoting mechanisms
of harmonizing world cultures?
I wish I knew the answer!
This is a quesion left unanswered. Only God can predict the future.

two-letter word. Any "harmony" in cultural globalization
obviosuly comes at the expense of the individual, and the
only solution I see is rebellion...as spelled out simply
in these words of Albert Camus: "What is a rebel? A man
who says no."
Abdi-Noor, the global generic person you describe, I have often characterized for the purposes of a personal definition, esoteric, as a plastic person. They have no clearly defined personalities. Unique, is unknown to them. Diversity will become an arcane word if this trend persists. I do not view it as a positive for the lot of mankind. As one who has always cherished mankind's ancient and wondrous Diversity (I've always thought that life would be very boring and mundane, if all of us were 'all the same'), I wonder the same thing. I think future generations living in a completely 'globalized culture' would miss so much concerning their own ancestors' ancient cultures, lifestyles, and family traditions.
