"mourning fog" (yes, I did intend to spell it that way)
her arms are stretched out
pushing the fog away
trying to see with her fingers
what her eyes can’t
near the ground dense brush
reverberates a gentle green
occasionally interrupted by
thick tree trunks reflecting
a silvery sheen
and looming overhead
an invisible canopy shutters
engulfed in a misty white shroud
the damp air hangs around her head
as if stuck in suspended animation
she reaches up to push her hair away
now heavy from the dankness,
thinking that will open up her view
her deep curls feel kind of wild,
but not free
somewhere on the path
love hangs in the mist
refracting darkness and lightness
but for now, it too
is suspended out of animation
waiting for the mourning fog to lift

I thought that was the only way TO spell it. LOL Like this kind of "heaviness" in poetry. It makes me want to steal behind the nearest fog-shrouded tree and just watch the proceedings. thanks for the visuals.

Thank you but it is just poetry. However, there are many things that leave us feeling sorrowful.
