Sounds like a powerful bond......one to be wary of........yet at the same time to delight in
We open the gates, when we choose....not often wisely

but can close them just as quick

reponsibility can be a blessing or a curse depending on the outcome of its actions or reactions ... sometimes, we just have to refrain from responsibility and take a chance ...

yep, lots of "raw" emotion that seems to be seeking an outlet yet precluded by the safe side of not acting itself out ...

I saw a chalice of strong wine in this verse. In the stem, the crystal, the sipping, the burning... lol.. and you served the verse well with a bottle of 'spirit'... I have often considered wine a versatile inspiration which can lead me either to delirium or to relaxation. I consider poetry the same. Maybe it's my own insights that caused my image of the verse... but love can be just as potent as any bottle of 'spirits' on the shelf. I enjoyed the verse thank you. :)
