I dreamt of you again the other night.
It was such a nice, soft dream
full of emotional and romantic love
(Yeah I know…
a waste of good synaptic energy).
Throughout the next day
I tried to forget I had the dream
Forget its sweetness
Discard its wistfulness
But it lingered in my thoughts
And lingered on my lips
And lingered out from my fingertips.
As I shared the dream with you
I remembered my deepest regrets
Of a life we never shared
or a song we never sing anymore
A silent song of love
that was only found
in our dreams.

"But it lingered in my thoughts
And lingered on my lips
And lingered out from my fingertips."
As I was reading (and I'm a slow reader who savors every nuance of sound) the first of those lines, I thought...wouldn't it be perfect if she used the word "fingertips" in this... and then you did. I'm whole. --Charlie
