No Casual Thoughts

Looking back through frozen memories of happier times
I am comforted by having lost something that was truly quite immense.
Something of true value, that was lost at my expense.
Could I truly be so sad, if it was not the richest of gold mines?
Would I have ever wanted anything less, to fill up these empty lines?

So were those wicked little lies he told, causing me to pout,
Of loving and trusting only me, as he kissed me on the mouth?
Or in the end was the truth something that was neither north nor south?
A d
amning of nagging thoughts hammering out so many submissive little doubts.
Laying out a course of confusing left, no right; just crazy round about routes.

These are no casual thoughts today
Just anxiety traipsing across my heart.
With a pounding finality, of a taut embittered knot.
If I could scream out my sorrow in a brilliant colorful display.
Then maybe one last time my love and I could take our hearts out on parade.

This senseless life, leave me of your many endless questions
Whose answers I’ll always speculate, but never get to know.
Just place my heart anticlimactically in the chill of freshly laden snow.
And when my tears freeze off during my nightly crying sessions,
I’ll be whispering into my dreamy pillow, of my loves secret confessions.

This reads like the wringing of hands. It's honest. Your honesty is one of the things I really like about you.
