My darling I thought we two were the same

Attempting to dance adroitly at the Ritz

I could barely hear you call my name

For my hearing aid was on the fritz

Praying the joint would never close

We kept calling for one more drink

Constantly stepping on each others toes

Our rhythm was completely out of sync

When the night started to end

You placed one finger on my chin

Asked me to be your lady friend

‘Cause you needed to feel my skin

When suddenly I awoke to a scream

Realising it was nothing, but a romantic dream.

This one is cute. It's easy to figure out whether it was a dream or not. What did your toes look like the next morning???

Took~ that lady~ by ~the hand
Bowed to her~ and all of the band.
They~ took up that centre line
She ~a smiling looking just fine,

Round ~and round ~and round they did go
Both waltzing ~ merrily~ it did ~ a show
Vienna waltz has all of the style
It does make those ladies smile
As Round~ and round~ and round they did go.
Da Da ~ Da da da ~Da Da Da~ d Dee,
Da Da~Da~Ah~Dum Ah~Didy Didy~Dee.

Madam! Front and center.. ahem! You, dearie, have taken my breath away.. I'm laughing myself right off this chair.. onto the floor.. praising your name.. The preface, alone, is hilarious.. this lovely 'tribute' to our illustrious (bag of wind) sonnet writer-in-residence belongs in the anals of AD.. magnificent! God, I love this.. to my library.. take no prisoners! love, katy xox.

OK, I feel like I missed the joke.
Guess I am not one of the in crowd.

Sara! I'm supposed to be working today and I saw this picture. I had to read your sonnet. You are, indeed, a very naughty little girl. You do look very charming in the picture, though!

". . . and the funny thing is, HE'S the one with the money!" This was very nice in a practical joke sort of way. Me and my sense of warped sense of humor liked it.

But a well written sonnet Sara!!

Now this is a true sonnet, and a true parody of one of the dens elite.
