Setting Sail, My Life (Sonnet)

You were both my best friend

At different points in time.

Me skirting along the hem

Not knowing how to find.

Each of you occupied your own space.

Shutting me out, leaving me alone.

Blinded to my precipice

When in the darkness a light was shown.

Like a furled craft a vision set sail.

Realizing at long last I did not need you or he.

Understanding out of hope time to prevail.

Charting a course, I alone set me free.

So now I know nothing in life is more for sure,

Than to rid myself of all that I inure.

Hoist up the mainsail, and make away, 90 knot winds approach, grey sky's, ten foot swell, tack and gybe, but.... The Island is in sight, land ahoy!!
I love sailing, Sober!! Mor fell out of bed, on his head, and couldnt get up in the morning, so he swabbed the deck, slipped on his neck
and now he's in the crows nest raving :)

This too will pass

Setting sails for new worlds out there, just waiting to be discovered. It is time for a challenge.
Let your time away inspire you into which direction to sail first.

Sara: This is quite beautiful and a wonderful sonnet. I hope to learn how to write a sonnet someday. I've just recently read an article written by Justin D'Souza on the rules for writing sonnets. I'm going to have to read it several more times, however, to get the rules down pat. Thanks for sharing this and you've done a superb job.

Well Sara I never!
Your certainly learning girl, down them on the last punch.
If one were to read between the lines, there is sad days ahead for the blue tablet brigade unless they are already inured.
Big Smile.
Mor,
