Solitude is not for everyone
For me personally, I prefer half and half
Half time alone, half time with people
I would go nuts if I had no solitude
Different forms of solitude exist
Self imposed, short-term, long term
Most people would not choose solitude
Those of us who do, are considered different
Loneliness is not sparked in me
When I have time alone by myself
In fact, my creativity is heightened
I'm not sure what it feels like, this loneliness
People I know have spoken of it
They hate being alone, feeling isolated
Experts say the negative effects of solitude can
Trigger the onset of mental illness in these people
Freedom… more of it. Spirituality increased.
These are some of the positive effects of solitude
Of course, if being alone drives a person crazy
Then they probably would not enjoy this freedom
Choices are not affected by the influence of others
The constraints of others are nonexistent
A person has a better scope of their actions
They know who they are and make better choices
What is your self concept? What is your identity?
Do you even know the answer to these questions?
Or are you never alone long enough to find out?
When you are alone for a day, you do what?
People who find it hard to be alone
Fall short of creative talents. It's true .
They've got to be around someone always
Would you fall in this category of people?
Genuine pleasure with deliberate intent
Preferred silence to constant chaotic noise
Deprivation of sensory input for a short time
Can all make interactions with others more genuine
Attained pleasure from within ourselves
Instead of from outside stimulation or sources
Creates a more complete connection
And introspection of oneself is attained
Solitude. It's not for everyone
But it would behoove everyone to have some
A state of mind more readily sharp
Developed in the complete absence of others. Solitude.
Thanks for taking me there. For if it weren't for solitude I'd just be another cog in the wheel of social society friending and being friended. Until I'd collapse in exhaustion every night, only to get up and do it all over again… and again like so many in the rat race of life that never stop to think about what it's all about.
