I told them all to leave today,
pulled a Bukowski
and screamed wild-eyed, red-faced:
"Begone, chattering, teeth-clacking peasants — you disrupt
my creative flow; Gomes must write!"
So they left me
to wallow
in egotistical, artistic madness.
It got real quiet, then.
And in the quiet,
I stared at the whiteboard of WORD
for a bit…
a bit longer…
a bit longer still…
and finally typed
nothing.
I began to stare instead at the whiteboard
provided by Nature
outside my window.
Clean, fat flakes, a rapturous fresh sheet
as yet unmarked by man or beast.
It called my name in passing drifts; I could not resist…
and so I wrote
in the snow.
Two words: Patricia Gomes.
Only two words, true ,
but I wrote them both
with such flair! Curlicue on the ess, no less!
And the important thing,
the important thing
is
that I wrote
I like this one here. The way it is written lets your eyes dance on the page and I feel the poem, for I have experienced the same things.

I have written in the snow myself. I used a pen. A very special pen. A fountain pen. A rather small but rather useful pen. I don't think you have one of those pens.
