cannot be understood or fit in its place.
Taking off through clips, clasps, and moorings,
wooden chair on wide-board, hardwood flooring.
Emily Dickinson's Morning Ride –
face of death, Fly's buzz of pride.
Keepsakes of Blue –
Eternity of Dew.
Clothes of pearl –
Yellow eye of girl.
Trying to make sense of feathers, a plank and gun –
not seeing the connection, missing a comparison.
