Ever wondered to what lengths one would go to be 'normal'?

Poem Artwork

something slimy going ‘round
squirming, wiggles, in hair, hangs down
there’s hissing I HATE that sound
how I hate going to town
sssss sssss sssss
can’t put a hat on my head
tend to snap if I wear red
like to lay around in bed
wish my head were bald instead
sssss sssss sssss
skin, definitely, reptile
when I shed skin, make a pile
uncoiled tongue hangs out in style
no men seek me to defile
sssss sssss sssss
learned to do a sleeper hold
I am lonely, growing old
(I hate it when snakes catch cold)
a spectacle worth pure gold
sssss sssss sssss
when those snakes slept, were snoozing
I had to do some cruising
now something inside’s kicking
feel like turkey with stuffing
sssss sssss sssss
they bite me in and outside
so my hair I brightly died
head snakes fell, ate the coven
now I’m bald but hide your eyes
sssss sssss sssss
I can make things very hard
leave you stone cold in your yard
and from children I am bared
pulled eyes out, have cane, am tired
