“We always did it that way”

He confidently, to all, did say.

Happy with the status quo

He simply would go with the flow.

Herein he was content.

To progress he would dissent.

No chance of anything new,

He had too much to do.

After years in this way of life,

And muddling with constant strife,

He sought the advice of a friend

Who graciously great wisdom did lend.

“Don’t to new things be blind!

You may delight in what you find.

In obscurity don’t be satisfied

With advances, learn to ride.”

To these words he would hastily concede,

And pursued with determined speed.

His life he turned around

And discovered happiness profound.
