THE WORD OF GOD

I stand in awe as I behold it.
Its pages are entirely divine.
I often struggle to comprehend it,
I marvel that it could be mine.
Given by the God of love,
To man in perpetual need.
Though reigning from above,
‘Twas given as life-giving seed.
What to this, should we say?
Should we listen to modern man?
There is a growing movement today
To derail God’s redemptive plan.
“What is their goal?” you inquire.
Is this something new?
“What do they herein desire?”
“Is there nothing better to pursue?”
God said that there would be
Many who would not hear.
Many from truth would flee
With these, there is no fear.
Though man may choose the wrong,
And by so doing appear so smart,
There is another verse to this song
That he, to hear, should start.
When life finally comes to a halt,
And man, before God, must stand,
Will man, with God find fault
For exclusion from His great plan?
Sad indeed will it be,
At the judgment bar of God,
When man will finally agree
That to His Word he should have given a nod.
