So often there is heartache.
So often there is strife.
So often there's no money
to help the ones that cry.
So many lay with emptiness
and hunger deep inside.
While governments with their big bucks
make plans to soar up high.
Whether it be tunnels underwater,
sky scrapers in the sky.
Man traveling to Mars
while others sit and die.
It breaks my heart to see
pain and suffering in the world.
More should be done to help.
Do stupid Government realize?
So many are just surviving
on small pay and little food.
While retiring governments
spend our money while
others shine their shoes.
This is a sad and brutal reality. Often it's because one government or country is trying to out do another, regardless of the cost.

A sad lament that has been going on for centuries,
but will soon come to an end, as promised in Rev.
21:3-5. "The former things will have passed away."
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
