Elijah’s Fire

Off to the side

The poor are slicing

            the throats of the rich

And the hand of justice

is as small as a cloud

            faraway over the sea.

The fog between

            a Ferrari and

            a red light brothel

cloaks the fear

of the preachers

preaching love and money

to the rich and the poor.

Smack in the center

Lightning strikes

            the dripping wet

            altar of the gods.

400 laughing preachers

keep laughing at the hand of justice

small as a cloud

faraway over the sea.

Justice served at the collection plate, tithes mount up divided by Pirelli tires speeding like Ferrari lightning, there's a long distance between how those fancy scissor side opening doors open on a Ferrari compared to how those pretty white double church doors open, and then the brothel doors lubricated with special hinges that even clergy have inspected...I like how this poem reads, Dayvid...
