“It can’t be true ...”
How can a soul be dying,
When I can still see it in my reflection?
“I’m not leaving when he needs me here!”
Anger...
“Aren’t you going to try and save me?”
To fix this...
You Can’t!
“Why do you think my life is more important than yours?”
All people lash out in the end.
Bargaining...
“Please...Can’t you just tell him that I’m tired?”
So that maybe he doesn’t have to cry so soon...
The luxury of time is just an illusion,
When it’s already too late.
Depression...
The worst thing is the pain,
Once I realize that it doesn’t hurt me,
More than it hurts him because he has to live with this.
“Is it wrong to want to live?”
If hope is gone.
Acceptance...
“I just want it to be over...”
Everything comes easier.
The moment you realize you can’t play God.
“I have no choice...right?”
Don’t mistake death for a dream...It’s permanent.
I find comfort in knowing,
Poignant write and so true, I have lived though the five stages of others I loved over the years and experienced almost word for word what you describe. I have also on a few occasions gone through a few of the stages myself only to be granted a last minute reprieve. Your work points out how we must definately treasure each moment we do have before we commence these stages.
