Sick, they said he was but you wouldn’t know it.
Tired, they know he is but he’d never show it
I watched him slip away as I held his hand and prayed…
"God forgive me for what I’ve done.
Please take him in your arms
Promise me he’ll never be lonely or in pain."
It started to rain…
The Heavens cried when the angels came home to Tobey.
I was by his side when they took him away.
He hid behind the smile, showing no fear.
But, I knew he was scared.
Death please be painless for this innocent young one.
It was only a matter of time.
Cancer took him away.
Took him away from me.
The Heavens cried when the angels came home to Tobey.
He knew he was going, He wrote me a letter to say goodbye.
"You have an angel now. You took care of me the best way that you could."
I can take care of you this time, I promise I’ll be good.
I’ll miss your smile, and the smell of your hair
The sound of your voice, and the way you were always there.
There’s only one last thing for me that I want you to do
When I go to sleep for the last time.
Make sure my teddy bear is right by my side.
I love you,
Goodnight."
And the Heavens cried when the angels came home to Tobey.
This is for anyone who needs to be comforted.

indeed it is a pleasure for all of us to be with such creative minds. You have your mothers flow, excellent writing perhaps a line or two too long but you like one or two modern writers i have read and including myself seem to enjoy using dialogue in poetry, i like it too. Namaste

Oh Mariah. This is so good that it made me cry. What a gentle touch you exhibit. Like Mother like Daughter. Be proud both of you.

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
