Lyric in Search of a Tune

As summer shadows lengthen into fall,
My golden late September days recall
The warmer days, unlonely days, and all
Those easy to remember days.

The wicked ways you wooed me with your eyes,
The teasing ways your kisses kindled mine,
The heated ways you made my pulse rate climb.
         The fireworks! The fiery skies!

The seasons pass, the pendulum has swung,
The summer ends and all my songs are sung.
My autumn days, my reverie, when young
Ideas relive my summer days.

The lusty look, your captivating charms,
The fever when you pressed your face to mine,
The ecstasy when bells began to chime.
         The thunderbolts! The fire alarms!

You are the mem’ries of my summertime.

I love this, Gene. Your opening stanza is particularly smooth and captivating. Songs sung may be sung again; I'm counting on it. And in its own way, summer lives inside the fall; fall inside the winter - I'm counting on that too.

L o v e. it, but all your songs will never be sung, Sir Williamson.
You have too many in you for that to happen. . .thank God. People
will still be singing them long after. . .not going to think beyond that point. Encore! ENCORE!! xOx 'Pea' xOx

the passions of youth, our summertimes, linger within the fires of imagination -- a look, an aroma, the sun at just the right angle, a tasty libation sipped just long enough to stir the soul -- yes summertime was a season of wonder -- you sang your song of youthful memories and toasted it with bells and fireworks -- now, "sing it again Sam" -- Gene, the music lingers in my ears too -- the rhapsody of youth plays sweeter than the others -- peace and love my friend --Jon Michael

Reminder of things to value in life...you indulge us with a sense of playfulnes, Gene. I hear maracas dancing beans in those dried gourd music makers and Charro's coochie coo...and flamenco guitars lit with tequila...a small, intimate whitewash room filled with intense eye contact...and so much more going on under the table...

Gene,
It has the tempo of andante with short bursts of allegro fuoco at the end of second and fourth, a Sinatra voice needed, and the entire lyric is well saved from soppy by the depth of gentle thought and feeling.

Good write, Gene, but personally, I'm glad winter's almost here. I don't do the summertime heat very well, especially now that I'm getting older. Heat bothers me more than it did; I never did like heat.

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)
