A short poem about a tall man who emerged from a small boy and lived happily ever after, more or less.

He plays with the silky hair
on his head
runs a finger the length
of his lovable nose
down through the tiny cleft
in his chin
follows the outline of two perfect ears
traces the sexy lopsided smile
closes the lids of his sleepy hazel eyes
grabs himself by his blue canvas belt
and swings himself into orbit

around his childhood
where he studies the rangy
underfed boy
with vacant eyes
brooding lips
a bow in his legs
and holes in his knickers
and wonders how
that sad funny looking kid
grew up
to be so damn handsome.
