The outer passes away; the innermost is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Thomas Carlyle He Walked Away He threw his ring, into the pond And watched the ripples spread Her halo of the moonlight gone At rest in muddied bed In peaceful grave, the circle saved Their promise that slipped thru He walked away, from all she gave To love somebody new I wrote the poem for the picture
