Speaking figuratively here, (of course, being from New Orleans I could be speaking literally), sometimes they don't know how to stay dead and buried. They rise up and walk, keep knocking at your door, calling you on the phone, sending you emails, making threats and crap like that. And the law offers you know real protection. You'd really like to take an ax and chop their heads off, or at least get your brother Bruno to break their knee caps. But if you do that, then everybody would say, "Whoa! That heiffer sure is violent!" That's why you take to writing about it. So you don't wear out your friends, who will go off behind your back and say things like, why won't she just get over it. ;-)
