Such a shame, 'bout Mrs. Snow She's not the lady that we know They say she lost her mind Tuesday While organizing gamma rays
And then she drank some gasoline Sleep walking through a desert dream She dug a hole straight through her wall To see the moon, when crickets called
She wears her shoes upon her ears So she can say....I didn't hear Binds her braids with licorice Green jello powder on her lids
She quiet, yet she smiles alot And always looks like she forgot The joke before the punchline hit When dining out, she over tips
Such a shame 'bout Mrs Snow A living, breathing, tale of woe She's never been one to complain And no one knows her inner pain
Mr. Snow's another bird A know-it-all of loudest word Tells her how to think and vote Critical of all her hopes
Corrects her every syllable Even though he's full of bull He's loud and confident for sure He knows it all......and even more
Mr Snow wants full control, Mr Snow wants power If she says 30 minutes....he says 1/2 hr He challenges her every word, and her every move He's energetic in his quest, for he has much to prove
Mr Snow won't let her breathe Mr Snow won't let her leave Two months after they were wed Mrs Snow, moved in her head
Mrs Snow's a silloutte Posture stooped and sadly set To all she seems a simple soul A flake for sure, a ditz, and cold
Mr Snow will scream all day Rant 'bout anything she'll say So Mrs Snow hides in her head While spreading toothpaste on her bread
Mrs Snow lost confidence, Mrs Snow lost pride Didn't care a fig or hoot, let the MOUTH deceide He cursed her out, he cursed the air, always in a rage Mrs Snow lost her key, dying in his cage
Mrs Snow forgot her name But loved the B L A N K her brain contained Inside and free....he could not see And there composed........her poetry

A masterpiece of insight. Knew a Mr Snow. Mrs Snow couldn't control her life, so she controlled her home. Never a speck of dust or anything out of place.
This piece is a keeper, Anita.
Excellent, you have conveyed an incredibly accurate light on a subject which is too often kept hushed. The mental abuse destroys ones sense of "self worth" hence crippling and making it more difficult to do anything about it... sometimes however, one is able to find the key, free onself and take flight from the cage!
Incredible...Sounds just like my ex to be. Only now coming out ot the Salting Down!
This is a unique and I would say personal way to broach and send a message of a painful and not discussed enouth subject. It is sad that abusers can cause so much damage in order to feed their own insecurities.

Tortuous what a breakdown in communication can do within a relationship. Incredible way you have encapsulated that in your verses. Panda :)
