Some folks say too much.......some not enough.Rehearshing what you want to say, and actually saying it are sometimes a feat in itself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.~ Martin Luther King,Jr
TO DIE IN PANTOMIME
A parody of  syllables
To aid in understanding
As tone would set the message straight
To catapult a landing!
Drum roll
Steady.......steady
Arriba!
An acrobatic feet indeed
A true trapeze of words
From ground to platform, on the swing
As much is seen........as heard!
Now.....jump!
Fly thru the air with the greatest of ease..
Expressions fly and move as free
As insects do on air
And yet dismissed by draft's discord
Puff  huff Puff
And nonchalance unfair
Triple tumblesault
Thru practice did the words learn flight
Before appointed time
But sound was shackled then dismissed
To die in pantomime
Gag!
Beautiful. You know as I do that Martin Luther King met a fatal end because of his words. But though he is gone it only served to make his words echoe and they will forever.
Great Write and God Bless,
Lew
You've put together quite a poetic act here, Queenie. And, of course, I love that Martin Luther King quote.
A lot of acts have died on Broadway and at the London Palladium. When actors die in movies they end up facing a second death in pantomine dressed in farce and riding pantomine horses. The Romans called these 'dumbshows'. The further our fabric of societies are dumbed down the more life is simply mimicked and our lives in danger of becoming parodies. One big pretence in which our thoughts and words are shackled by the forces of insidious political correctness.
Anyway, such is life in a pantomine world, I better go and feed the pantomine horse.
Intriguing and origianal work that says so much and can be interpreted in more than one way yet I doubt most would come close to the intensity the poet has offered us here. Well done Anita, this one makes us think.
