Dealing with difficult or ignorant people, is unfortunately a part of life. You can come to odds with yourself.  Do you try to explain, a situation, when someone is so off the mark, and enjoying their misjudgment, making for bad feelings etc.  Or do you try to set the record straight.  I have sometimes found that the more information you give an ignorant person, the more stubborn they get in their misconceptions, and sadly more fired up.  The only thing about such situations is you can come away feeling that you are not as dumb as you thought you were!  Comparisons can have merit!

When is the time for tact
Best to check the impulse
Once said, no turning back
 
How to deal with ignorance
Arise with misconceptions
Of spewed volcanic vigor
In blinding self deceptions
 
How far or low should logic go
To set the record right
For those with pride in ignorance
Who vainly shun the light
