It started with clay, and heavenly hands
Fashioning man, for Eden so grand
From torso was taken, one single rib
To make man a mate, with which he could live
Innocence lost, as time takes its toll
Tempted by serpents, enticing and cold
Just one quick bite, the fruit is so sweet
No one will know, your lips touched this treat
What could it hurt? Nothing will change!
Pick some for Adam, don't be afraid!
So Eve picked the apple juicy and ripe
Shared it with Adam, and taught him delights
Well, you know the story, of Paradise lost
Into the cold, was innocense tossed
With fig leaves they hid, their bodies with shame
Seeing each other with anger and blame
Throughout the centuries an imbalance, occurred
The daughters of Eve, were left with a curse
Treated as chattel, but needed for life
Sisters and cousins, daughters and wives
With love and strength, universal traits
The abundance of females in populations birthrates
The daughters of Eve, have survived and grown strong
Nurtured their babies, so life could go on
And yet with all the advances now gained
So many woman still carry their pain
They live and breathe between blocks of clay
But their souls still hold paradise, and their hearts know the way
