At 47

If I had an inner light, to see my soul as fresh
As a stranger to myself, bared beyond this flesh
Would I respect this soul I chose, with feelings unexplained?
And send this light into the world, with knowledge now arcane?

Did I respect this gift of life, and everthing it holds?
Did I do the best I could, or were my days foretold?
I think that I am half way thru, my journey as I am
As the waters of my life...... rise against the damn

I'm on the threshold of hag.....
Now EVERYTHINGS starting to sag!!!!!!
My tushy got mushy
My mustache is bushy
My hormones are caught in a snag!!!!

Does time label us sage?
As the campaigning years bring on age?

The heart and the body grow week
