When truth conveys, all that is felt
For winter winds, had froze the breast
Yet beats the heart, neath storms caress
Tho seen as marble, hard as stone
Turned towards the stars, gaze upward prone
The spirt trapped neath, sheath of ice
Knew second birth, as phoenix, twice
For flames of fire, danced within
Immobile chest, neath frosty skin
For fixed of pose became the crutch
Of one who had endured so much
By stillness, was the thought to blend
To non exist, yet comprehend
For now with posture, firmly set
A life became a silhouette
Words whispered by a kindred soul
Embraced the ice, from seasoned cold
From all that was, to what will be
Came avalanche of liberty

Lady, this is superb and that isn't just an empty platitude. I think the imagery of the metaphor is perfect and the meter "spot on". An excellent write. Mal.
