Poem Artwork

A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence

~Leopold Stokowski

I CAN SEE MUSIC

I can SEE music, when I close my eyes
It leaps, it rolls, it cascades and flies!!!
Bold neon streaks, across an ebony screen
It dances and tumbles on my mind's trampoline

But not every score, will perform for me
Only the classics......like Brahms and Vivaldi!
Ravel, and Beethoven, Mozart....and Chopin
Wild paint on my canvas..freeform...WITHOUT PLAN!!!

The order of music, behind my closed eyes
Moves with an abandon....at whose beauty....I sigh.....
I know....that I'm..."Different"....in how I feel art
I embrace...my own pace.....to the depths of my heart

Perhaps I live...on the fringe...of the sane.....?
As my mind sees a pallet that bursts into flame!
With colors alive, thru the spirit of passion
I relax so enthralled.....as my sanity's rationed

I have to add you to my list. Seeing music is great, I need to introduce you to this guy I know who swears that words have colors when you speak them. I have strange, sometimes scary friends. Good poem.
