her favorite man in literary history
it’s a very well made production by the way --
It excites her that his character is Aspergerish
has this fast way of talking, just as she does
and isn’t it so funny that no one can keep up
with him, or her, no one. Not one.
But I’m Watson, I can see that as I watch
her face, her amused bemusement, to her
I’m the commoner slow speaking
made-with-all-the-ordinary hinges and bolts
mortal, but she –
she’s able to memorize dates, hairs
on a pant leg or the Fibonacci series, prime number
calculations in her spare time
all the shadows, only taking what she truly wants
from the pantry or whichever cases challenge her
turn up the volume! I’m getting
old and I’m trying to lip read

Different tastes, and that is not just something superficial! Through your description, we can imagine the way the narrator and the lady who's "Sherlocked" have a totally different perspective on life. It says something about women and aging too. Enjoyed this one.

Nothing elementary about this production, Christine. Really interesting and brings out the character of Holmes and Watson to a T, and gives encouragement to us menfolk that a sweet nature can be 'hot', that nice guys (to paraphrase Dawkings) can finish first in a lady's estimation. Precisely!

Christine, this piece of writing is effervescent. You chose a superb medium of the Sherlock movie to illustrate the energy and the beyond-energy. I love stanza three, wherein you place yourself next to that uberness and say, "...ordinary hinges and bolts." That is sublime rudimentary delight. ~~ DIana

Heehee . . . Sometimes, many times I should add, glamor overshadows the ones who make certain literary figures shine as does Watson to the magnifying glass holding, pipe smoking, Sherlock, and yes, women can be mesmerized and. . . should I say again . . . Sherlocked?

This is a delightful little piece about a modern-day Sherlock Holmes and his or her partner, Watson. Or at least I think that's what it is, because I'm clueless. Perhaps it's just elementary. I'll see if I can find a good Holmes for someone who is Sherlocked. ;-)

Smart, savvy, sophisticated, pert, pithy, probative, inciteful, incendiary, imperative, implosive and impish... to name a few of the adjectives that your poem invites, even as it invites an intelligent response. Quite coy, Christine.
Christine, your words describe, I am sure, one of the four or five Sherlock Holmes series that, including cable and net-flix, can be watched on television on any day, or evening and, as Basil Rathbone was, to my way of thinking, the very best Sherlock Holmes so, really, I no longer watch any of the multitude of Sherlock shows to be found now-a-days. However, true, a female Watson is more interesting than Sherlock.
