FREE SPIRITS

Our children are free spirits who come to dwell

In our house for a while, in our house for a spell

We share our lives for such a short while,

Before they’re off to live it their style

Let those short years be ‘quality plus’

The dividends reaped will be love and trust,

For parenting is indeed a serious endeavor,

Which takes much more than being a little clever,

It is sacrifice and devotion, giving and taking,

Then letting go, of all that in the making,

 And let go we must or they will never know

   That challenges and trials are the seeds that grow           

Our children are free spirits who come only to dwell

In our house for a while, in our house for a spell.
