Can we trust life’s lessons,
When they are learned
In solemn cave,
In darkness,
In a land away,
Perpetual coolness
And calm,
With walls that speak
If you will listen,
To the gentle rhythm of time?
A truth is forever;
A law of the physical realm,
Waiting patiently
Until called,
Standing proudly
Within the walls of a lie,
Illuminating the night.
I can feel my world
Around me,
Like a shroud of rock
Above and below,
No warmth,
But genuine precision,
Still air,
Exhaled by generations past.
The lesson is life,
And the isolation
That is sometimes unknown,
Carbon elements are we
Within the earth,
When finally our spirits
Are free.
I feel the truth rising,
As I pray
I am not left behind,
With the visage
Of the Lord my God,
Forever
Emblazoned
In my eyes.
You have a gift from God. Keep on writing!
